Another adventure, another blog. I don't think I'll have the time or means to be as frequent or thorough as I was in Japan, but we'll see how it goes in South America. I'll try for lots of photos at least.

The grand plan is to travel, make stuff, and connect with other artists and designers from October until next May, when I'll hopefully be coming back stateside for grad school. I'm expecting to fly into Buenos Aires, then explore Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile, Peru and maybe Ecuador if I don't run out of time, which I will. I don't have a very structured itinerary because I prefer figuring out a few things I'd like to target and then going with things as they come along. I like my freedom and flexibility.

At the beginning of July, I found myself in the perfect position to run away and travel for more than a week or two. After missing a similar opportunity three years ago and then unhappily resigning myself to the foot-binding commitments and responsibilities that come with jobs and relationships, there's no way I was going to let another prime chance get away from me. Wanderlust gets me again.

Why South America? Most of my international focus in the past has been on Asia or Europe, and my Spanish is pitiful to non-existent, but I've been wanting to visit Buenos Aires for years and it ballooned from there. Plus it seems like a good place to find the avocado farmer of my dreams.
